I don't know if, or how I can post pictures on here. We are doing pretty good out there. Just a small tip on water temp and bass on Guntersville this time of year. Alot of people think that the cold fronts are shutting the fish down this time of year. Ok, here's the low down on this.
The water temps are reaching 55+ degrees in the shallows. When a cold front comes through, alot of people make the mistake and believe that this pushes the fish back off into deeper breaklines. This is true to a certain degree, fact is it takes a few days for the water temp to affect the fish. Usually terrible weather this time of year brings in a low pressure and the fish go on a binge. Alot of times in a foot or less of water. Usually for a day or two this binge will continue on into the blue bird sky days, but begins to slow down again after two or three days of the high pressure. By this time the water temp begins to cool, depending how long the cold front stalls. Last sunday when we got the snow, the fish just absolutely came un-glued. All fish are being caught on red traps, few on the jig. Good fishing and tightlines!
Also!! Troy Jens, a well known pro, now turned PAA journalist is looking for volunteers for a Child wish program coming to Guntersville. Anyone interested in helping out with this should contact Troy Jens @ anglingalabama.com or e-mail him at anglingalabama@gmail.com. Looking for volunteers with boats!!
These kids are terminally ill, alot of whom, make there dying wish to be able to enjoy an outdoors sport.
